Results: Temporal Pattern Analysis in Birth Data Distributions (1970-2014)
Analysis Overview
We analyzed 14,610 days of ACTUAL US daily birth counts (total 152,273,157 births) sourced from CDC/NCHS (1970-1988, 1994-2003) and SSA (2004-2014).
- Scope: Moon Sign (Tropical), Moon Sign (Vedic), and Tithi (Vedic Lunar Day).
- Objective: Test for any significant deviation in birth volume based solely on the Moon's position or phase.
Key Findings
1. Moon Signs (Tropical)
Result: NULL (< 0.3% Deviation) The Moon's placement in the Tropical Zodiac shows deviations indistinguishable from random noise.
- Highest: Libra (+0.29%), Leo (+0.21%)
- Lowest: Pisces (-0.31%), Virgo (-0.17%)
- Conclusion: There is no "Fertility Sign" in the Tropical Zodiac.
2. Moon Signs (Vedic/Sidereal)
Result: NULL (< 0.4% Deviation) The Vedic Zodiac (shifted ~24 degrees) also shows no significant pattern.
- Highest: Libra (+0.39%), Cancer (+0.22%)
- Lowest: Aquarius (-0.31%), Scorpio (-0.23%)
- Conclusion: Shifting to the Sidereal zodiac does not reveal a hidden signal.
3. Tithi (Vedic Lunar Day)
Result: NULL (< 0.6% Deviation) We analyzed the 30 Tithis (15 Waxing/Shukla, 15 Waning/Krishna).
- Highest: Shukla 11 (+0.56%), Krishna 12 (+0.51%)
- Lowest: Krishna 03 (-0.56%), Krishna 14 (-0.48%)
- Significance of "Purnima" (Full Moon): +0.16% (Negligible).
- Significance of "Amavasya" (New Moon): -0.08% (Negligible).
- Conclusion: There is no consistent pattern favoring the New Moon, Full Moon, or any specific phase.
4. Sun Signs (Tropical)
Result: SEASONAL (+/- 6% Deviation) US Births show clear seasonality (Late Summer Peak).
- Highest: Virgo (+5.86%), Leo (+4.95%).
- Lowest: Capricorn (-4.95%), Aries (-2.72%).
- Conclusion: Significant deviations exist but follow the known biological/seasonal birth curve (peak conceptions in winter holidays), not astrological archetypes.
Detailed Deviations (Tropical Moon)
| Sign | Deviation |
|---|---|
| Libra | +0.29% |
| Leo | +0.21% |
| Taurus | +0.16% |
| Pisces | -0.31% |
Detailed Deviations (Tithi - Top/Bottom 3)
| Tithi | Deviation |
|---|---|
| Shukla 11 | +0.56% |
| Krishna 12 | +0.51% |
| Shukla 01 | +0.43% |
| ... | ... |
| Amavasya (30) | -0.08% |
| Krishna 14 | -0.48% |
| Krishna 03 | -0.56% |
Wealthy Cohort Analysis (N=96)
We replicated the analysis on a small dataset of 96 ultra-wealthy individuals (verified birth data). Contrast with General Population:
- Amavasya (New Moon):
- General Pop: -0.08% (Negligible)
- Wealthy: +337.5% (14.6% of sample vs 3.3% expected). This is the #1 Tithi.
- Tropical Moon Signs:
- General Pop: Flat.
- Wealthy: Spikes in Capricorn (+87%), Pisces (+87%), and Virgo (+87%). Zero births in Libra.
- Vedic Moon Signs:
- General Pop: Flat.
- Wealthy: Spike in Sagittarius (+137%).
- Tropical Sun Signs:
- General Pop: Seasonal peak in Virgo/Leo (+5%). Aries is a low point (-2.7%).
- Wealthy: Massive spike in Aries (+150%) and Scorpio (+87.5%). Sagittarius is bottom (0 births).
Note: The sample size (N=96) is small, but the deviation for Amavasya is statistically extreme compared to the 152M baseline.
Conclusion
Using a massive dataset of 152 Million actual births as a comparison group, we confirm that Lunar Factors (Tropical Sign, Vedic Sign, and Tithi/Phase) have zero impact on birth volume. The deviations found (<0.6%) are statistically insignificant and lack any coherent pattern, confirming that the Moon's position is not a driver of birth timing in the general population. However, the subgroup of Ultra-Wealthy individuals shows a potentially significant anomaly favoring the New Moon (Amavasya) and Earth/Water signs.
